The coronavirus pandemic has had a devastating impact on all aspects of society, but the World Health Organisation (WHO) warns this could only be the beginning of a string of new emerging diseases.
With potential new pandemics ahead, WHO is urging the world the get “serious” about preparedness. “We need to get ready for something that may be even more severe in the future” said Dr Mike Ryan, head of the WHO emergencies program, in the WHO briefing last week. The coronavirus crisis should be used as a “wake-up call” to prepare our society, economy, and businesses in the future.
As the UK starts its 3rd national lockdown, it is becoming more obvious that businesses are going to need viable solutions to keep their employees at work and safe.
The WorkSafe Safe Spacer™, developed by Emtec Corporation, can enable your business to keep running and employees safe whilst respecting social distancing measures. The Safe Spacer™ wearable social distance monitor is a ground-breaking device, which will help its users maintain a safe social distance in the workplace and alerts wearers when other units come within two metres with light, vibration, and sound.
Here at WorkSafe, we want to keep your employees and business safe by helping you find solutions to social distancing within the workplace. So that we can all work through this crisis and be prepared for the future. You can read more about the device and watch some short videos explaining exactly how it works and how it gathers crucial data here.
The roll out of the vaccines does not mean the virus will not spread and that social distancing and mask wearing should stop. “I don’t believe we have the evidence on any of the vaccines to be confident that it’s going to prevent people getting the infection and therefore being able to pass it on” says Dr Soumya Swaminathan of the WHO.
